Dalit Community Receiving Full Respect in the AAP Government, Says State General Secretary
Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh-
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab State General Secretary and Chairman of Punjab Mandi Board, Harchand Singh Barsat, stated that Congress MP from Jalandhar, Charanjit Singh Channi, is shedding crocodile tears while indulging in personal interest politics in the name of the Dalit community.
He said that despite being in power for a long time, the Congress Party failed to provide even basic facilities to the Dalit community. Instead, they misled Dalits during elections with hollow slogans. The Congress never provided good schools, hospitals, or employment opportunities for Dalits. Today, when the Congress Party has lost its relevance in the Dalit communities, leaders like Charanjit Singh Channi are making misleading statements.
On the other hand, Barsat added, the Aam Aadmi Party has initiated a number of development and public welfare works, keeping all sections of society in focus since forming the government. Within two months, 600 units of free electricity have been provided to all sections. Free bus service has been introduced for women.
He mentioned that, for the first time, reservation was introduced for the recruitment of posts for government lawyers in the Advocate General's office. A debt of approximately ₹68 crore of SC families has also been waived.
The Punjab government has provided around 55,000 government jobs without any bribes or recommendations, ensuring full reservation for the Dalit community in these recruitments. Moreover, ministers from the Dalit community have been assigned key portfolios in the Punjab government to ensure the welfare and attention of all.
